For the website and mobile app
App Terms of Use
The ground rules for family passes, vendor and staff accounts, and the photos and content you share through Trunk or Treat.
Last updated: September 20, 2026
1. Agreement
The Trunk or Treat website and mobile app (the "Service") are operated by Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle and Core Medicine ("we" or "the organizers"). By registering a family, claiming a pass, signing in to the vendor portal or staff tools, or uploading content, you agree to these terms, the Official Event Policies, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to register a family, claim a pass, hold a vendor or staff account, or upload content. Children take part in the event under the supervision of the adult who registered.
2. Your pass and account
- One registration represents one family or attending party. Keep your pass code private and do not share your pass with another family or an unrelated party.
- Give accurate information when you register and keep it current.
- Your registration information is used only to run the event. We never sell it or give it to sponsors or vendors. The Privacy Policy explains who can see it.
- Vendors and staff are responsible for keeping their password secure and for everything done under their account.
- We may suspend or cancel a pass or account that is shared, duplicated, used to interfere with the event, or used in a way that breaks these terms or the event policies.
3. Photos and content you submit
The Service lets you submit photos and short titles for the costume contest and scavenger hunt photo challenges, and lets vendors submit booth photos and promotions ("Content"). When you submit Content:
- You confirm that you took the photo or have permission from whoever did, and that everyone shown in it is a member of your family or has given you permission to share it. For a child who is not your own, that permission must come from the child's parent or guardian.
- You give the organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, review, and display the Content in the app and on the website for the event, its contests, and its records. We will not use your photos in advertising, on social media, or in other marketing without asking you first.
- You keep ownership of your Content and can delete it at any time from the Play tab. Deleting a photo removes it from the app. Copies that other people already saved cannot be recalled.
- Approved contest photos are visible to other registered attendees, and scavenger hunt challenge photos are seen by your family and event staff. In both cases the photo files sit at public web addresses, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Only upload photos you are comfortable sharing.
4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior
Trunk or Treat is a family event, and the app is held to the same standard. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not submit or do any of the following:
- Nudity, sexual content, or anything that sexualizes or endangers a child.
- Graphic violence or gore, or real or realistic-looking weapons presented in a threatening way.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or content that demeans people based on race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or age.
- Content that promotes illegal activity, drugs, or alcohol, or that encourages unsafe behavior.
- Other people's personal information, or photos of people who have not agreed to be photographed.
- Spam, unrelated images, content that does not match the challenge or contest, advertising, or misleading content, including impersonating another family, a vendor, a sponsor, or event staff.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights, or that contains malware or attempts to interfere with the Service.
- Using the reporting or blocking tools in bad faith, or trying to get around a block, a rejection, or a cancelled pass.
5. Moderation, reporting, and blocking
- Attendee photos are reviewed by the event team, normally before they appear to anyone else, and the team can remove any photo after it is posted. Vendor promos are reviewed before they are sent.
- Anyone can report a photo in the app. We review reports promptly, usually within 24 hours and immediately during the event, and we remove content that breaks these terms.
- You can block a contributor in the app, and their photos will no longer appear for you.
- We may remove or reject Content, edit a title, revoke a pass, disable an account, or contact law enforcement when we consider it appropriate. Our decisions about Content are final.
- Content that appears to sexualize, exploit, or endanger a child is removed immediately and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by law. Report any such content to us right away at events@rockyfootandankle.com, which is our designated point of contact for child safety concerns.
6. Contests, the hunt, and the raffle
The scavenger hunt, costume contest, trunk voting, and raffle are governed by the Contest & Raffle Rules. No purchase is necessary. Staff decisions about approvals, points, and winners are final.
7. Notifications and email
Push notifications and event emails are optional. You choose whether to turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings, in your phone's notification settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any email. We may still send a message when it is necessary to administer your registration or to tell you about a significant change to the event, as described in the event policies.
8. Not a medical service
Using the Service or attending the event does not create a physician-patient relationship with Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle, Core Medicine, or their providers. Nothing in the Service is medical advice. For an emergency, call 911.
9. Availability and changes
The Service is provided free of charge and "as is". We do our best to keep it running, especially on event night, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or work on every device. Event details shown in the app, including the map, schedule, participating trunks, and promotions, can change without notice. We may update, suspend, or shut down the Service or any feature at any time, including after the event.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organizers, their physicians, providers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, from Content submitted by other users, or from your participation in the event. Nothing in these terms waives rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
11. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app and is not responsible for it or its content. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
12. Changes to these terms and contact
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Questions: events@rockyfootandankle.com, or Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle and Core Medicine, Trunk or Treat, 4505 Enterprise Way, Caldwell, ID 83605.
